Advantages: Thank goodness it's just on selected channels

Disadvantages: Too predictable

This show is one of those you either hate or you love. This show was released in the USA in 2003, and has been aired on ABC. It can be seen in the UK on channel ABC1, and as far as I am aware, has been shown in the past on daytime ITV (but I might be wrong here), so the best way to catch it is to look it up on Sky channel 185, or Virgin media channel 161.

The show is about an All-American family (the Shanowski's), whose life's are disrupted by the arrival of the mother of the family, Hope Fairfield-Shanowski's crazy "celebrity" sister Faith Fairfield, who moves in with the family after her charcter was unceremonioulsy killed off on her daytime soap "The Sacred and the Sinful".

The character of Hope is played by Faith Ford, and she is the all-resposnible sensible wife to orthodontist Charley Shanowski (Ted McGinley), and mother to Sydney (Nicole Paggi), Haley (Macey Cruthird), and Justin (Paulie Litt). Hope is your typical home-maker mother, who loves her home, children, baking and gardening, and this clashes with the more wordly attitude of her overly fashion conscious, lazy younger sister Faith (Kelly Rippa).

The plot focuses on Faith's desire to return to her TV career, and celebrity status, and her refusal to accept her days as a celebrity are over. In her endeavours, she tends to get her older sister into all kinds of unusual sittuations, and in the process clashes with Charley, who is desperate for her to move out of the house.

Faith is quite silly as a character, always quite selfish, and does not always think of the consequences of her actions to her sister and family. She dresses quite loud and judges Hope for her "boring" housewife image. She is regularly involved with various men, which also leads to trouble with the family.

I really dont like this show very much. It is just too predictable, the plots are always on the same line, with Faith doing something selfish, and Hope ending up worse for the wear. It would probably have been better in my humble opinion, if sometimes the reverse happened: if Faith was the one that got off the worst as a result of her own actions.

I for one would certainly not go out of my way to watch an episode.

Summary: I have no faith in this hopeless comedy....

I agree, America produces some brilliant programmes, but it also produces alot of rubbish. Nice pun work in the summary btw. There is a tabloid career for you yet! :p
