House is a medical drama set in Princeton Plainsboro Hospital which centres around misanthropic diagnostician Dr Greg House. House specialises in diagnosing illnesses and ailments which present with unusual symptoms. He is aided by a team of three doctors - Chase, Cameron and Foreman - whose various character flaws are exploited and often derided by House to achieve his ultimate aim of finding the truth behind his patients' lies. House also has a long-suffering best friend in the shape of philandering (but generally a nice guy) oncologist Dr Wilson. Although it is a drama and can be quite sad in parts, Hugh Laurie is extremely funny as House as is Robert Sean Leonard as Wilson. The dialogue and plot are well written and it is almost impossible to predict where an episode is going from the symptoms presented at the start. The medical scenes can be quite graphic so it is not one for the squeamish but if you have a strong enough stomach it is one of the best TV shows around at the moment.

Summary: A superb TV show
