Advantages: Brilliant, drama, action and comedy.
Disadvantages: None
This is quite possibly the greatest medicine based show ever.
So as you probably gather from the discription House is about an obsessive doctor who trusts no-one and believes he is always right, which is the reason he is so great. House solves puzzles by finding, and often eliminating, clues and I think this is what appeals to me.
You know how at school they tell you about the different learning styles? Well I'm a classic problem solver, if I know the problem and have the input required I will happily struggle away until I get the desired answer. This is exactly what House does, of course with the dry wit and sarcastic manner which makes it fun to watch.
I've been a fan of Hugh Laurie since seeing him playing George in Blackadder Goes Fourth and so I was worried I'd be dissapointed if I were to watch House. Happily though, I was not. Granted his comedy genius has taken a different tone, one of a self hating doctor, it's still the comic skill of Laurie bubbling under the surface.
An excellent program, if you haven't seen it you're missing out!
Summary: House is well worth a watch
