I did actually watch the series before this with my kid sister - a series where they picked the new Maria for the sound of music. However, while I enjoyed that, I've done my best to avoid this series where they find a new Nancy and Oliver for the musical Oliver Twist. Why's that? Because they're using kids. When reality shows like this one use adults, I've no objection. Once you've grown up, if you want to go up and make a fool of yourself in the hope of winning a new starring role, or a ton of money, good luck to you. Lots of OOMPH! It's only happened in the last two years that I really started to get interested in what people think of as reality TV. By that I'm not counting soaps or programmes like Big Brother. Heaven forbid that I'd ever watch those programmes when my interests lie elsewhere. I'm not suggesting that people who watch these programmes are misguided, after all, we choose our own TV programmes and choice is what makes each person individual. One thing that does bother me is that some programmes get lumped together when they should stand alone.
