The zenith of television programming, American tv has finally found something of which John Loggie Baird could truly be proud, this programme is shown on TMF, it is rightfully pitched at a primetime evening slot as its thought provoking television that makes you consider art, spirituality and our place in the universe.

Nah, not really this is a spin off of another equally pointless reality television show called Flava of Love with the big clocked rapper, Flava Flav. The point of that show was to make lots of women with low self esteem jump through hoops in bikinis whilst arguing to be the amour of Mr Flav, an elderly rapper who now resembles a mole with a big clock, almost like a side character from Wind in the Willows.

Well I love New York follows one of the least likeable and socially repugnant characters from that series and gives her a version, where a variety of meathead knuckledraggers have to show how much money they have, how strong they are and such interesting variants to gain this delicate middle aged flowers love.

As ever the show is heavily scripted, the contestants are a mix of wannabes and people with mental health issues to ensure there is conflict, showing off and televisual bang for the buck.

This show is awful, its loud, it puts civilisation back about 300 years, the contestants are an embarrassment to men, the prize is an embarrassment to women and the programme is an embarrassment to its makers, I watched 20 minutes of one show, saw one man steal a man's drawing, threaten him and then break down, I found the show appalling, it was on the edge of exploitation and felt like sitting in a chair watching a tramp slowly weaken.

This programme is mean, it is hurtful and looking to make people do bad things on television, I accept that these people all chose to appear on the programme, but some were clearly chosen as they were in a bad place mentally at the time and this is reallyclear, it just makes you wonder where this will all end, what is the evolutionary peak of this kind of show?

This is appalling television, its low rent, cheap, the people have no redeeming features, the makers seem to be following a never ending desire to make sure every person on the planet has their own television programme (surely the next step from us following the inane tweets of 'celebs'). Read a book, eat something, play with your kids, write down how you feel, go for a walk, even watch Total wipeout, just do something that doesn't freeze your brain and make this pile of drivel watchable!

Summary: Utter Bilge, a discredit to anyone who was involved with it.
