Advantages: Great comedy performances, intelligent comedy, believable

Disadvantages: To some the humour is too slow or too dry

I'm Alan Partridge is the show that put Steve Coogan on another planet in terms of his fame and the doors opened to him. Steve Coogan plays Alan Partridge who is a radio presenter who is destined to be friendless and alone in the world thanks to his unique ways and cringe worthy comments. Alan is an up and coming star in his own mind whilst to the industry he is no longer worth keeping onto as we see in series one where Alan is dropped by the BBC before he attacks the head of BBC programming with a giant cheese before heading back to his hotel that he is resident in. Alan is assisted by Lynn who is an assitant who puts up with being treated badly and never given a raise and it is her job to help Alan get his career back on track and ensure he doesn't lose it all.
In series 2 Alan has gone more upmarket and stays in a static home whilst his house is being renovated and thanks to a consistant cast of characters and Coogan's ability to play the character so well that you feel both sympathy for and also a dislike for which you will never figure out.

Summary: A great show and whilst maybe not a classic it will stand the tests of time well
