Advantages: Laugh out loud humour, fantastic characters

Disadvantages: Absolutely none

First of all, what an absolutely brilliant character to think up, an ageing local radio presenter with a difficulty to tolerate people and stick him in a travel tavern and you've got the makings of a brilliant comedy.

Steve Coogan portrays Alan Partridge fantastically well, to the point that you just can't see him in any other show without thinking rather than Coogan it's Alan Partridge.

As I said, the show is based around a radio presenter in Norwich who is going through a divorce and has trouble communicating with his kids.

The travel taverns handy man, Michael, is a fast talking geordie who Alan struggles to understand, highly amusing when he does! And the staff find it hard to stay professional as they visibly struggle to tolerate Alan during his stay at the Linton Travel Tavern.

This is the kind of sitcom that you could easily watch over and over again, the way things are said, the timing of the gags and the brilliant characters make this one of the finest British comedies of modern times.

Summary: Superb comedy, and one of the most hilarious characters of our time
