Makes my children try to climb into the telly to join in! (In the Night Garden)
Member Name: lunarc
Advantages: Lovely characters and setting with lots of positivity Disadvantages: None - it's wonderful! In The Night Garden is the only TV program that has made BOTH of my children try to climb into the television in order to become a part of it!! The show is created by the same partnership behind Teletubbies and is aimed at children between the age of 1 and 4. It is set in a lush green landscape with trees, flowers and birds. The main characters are Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka, The Tombliboos, Pontipines, Wottingers and the Ha-Hoos and each episode follows one or more of the characters in a Night Garden adventure. There are also two modes of transport in the Night Garden: the Pinky Ponk (which flies) and the Ninky Nonk (which is like a train). Sometimes the plots are very simple - for example, there was an episode which simply followed Makka Pakka travelling round the Night Garden washing everybody's faces with his sponge! But my children are always mesmerised, regardless of the plot. The characters are always very nice to each other, with lots of hugs and kisses, clapping and dancing. Some of the characters have their own song, which my kids always try to join in with! It really is a nice program to watch and is very colourful and positive. Summary: Night Garden is a fab show for young children and mine are always mesmerised. |
