Advantages: timeless, predictable, truly jolly

Disadvantages: not made any more, "gadget boy" was awful, dr claw never caught

People, I have watched repeats of Inspector Gadget every time they have come back on television.
I know the plotline is nearly always the same (that is: penny and brain help out gadget, gadget thinks MAD agents are good guys and that brain is the MAD agent, Dr. Claw escapes at the end), but it is a timeless cartoon. The humour value plus the fact that everyone is cleverer than inspector gadget himself, and yet he still wins in the end, is absolutely classic. Plus, little recurring things, like chief Quimby getting his "self destruct message" blown up in his face every time. Nobody in their right mind can say Inspector Gadget is a bad cartoon. It even has educational value: at the end of most cartoons, Gadget gives you a tip, such as "never lift boxes by bending over; lift with your back, not your knees". Inspector Gadget is a role model for all aspiring policemen, and very very cool!
