Advantages: GOOD COVERAGE AND FUNNY ON TIMES
Disadvantages: COULD BE MISS UNDERSTOOD AND CAUSE PROBLEMS
What a fella, without him the show wouldn't be worth watching. I can't say I am engrosed with every subject or problem that they cover, but in general it is good watching. Most talk shows cover the same thing but when Jerry Springer covers it he does just what he says. I can't help wondering if it is set up or if it is for real. I mean how many men out there could be honest and say they didn't know the girl they were dating was a fella. I just can't believe that this could happen, he must be either very stupid or has never got passed first base. I don't know if there is any truth in and it has happened to you or someone you know then I would be interested to know just how it happend. The show can be violent but again is that all for show? It also confuses me why certain people want to go on national television and tell their partner, friend or who ever, their secrets. In some cases they are best left alone and should only be spoken about in private, if not to spare the other persons fellings and not to shame them more than they already are. I am sure if I was asked to go on the show I would hold some serious reservations first and probably refuse. Go Jerry is now a house hold name and I personally think he is great and the Americans certainly do things bigger and better don't they. Keep on going Jerry.

- 25/10/00 I certainly could not agree that Jerry is great. He says people who do not like the show should not watch, and I do not. I have caught some brief glimpses, however, and I find myself amazed that it entertains people, after the initial shock factor wears off. In such an artificial environment, with the stress of so many observers inciting the guests to extreme emotion, what appears is so contrived, and neither educates nor informs.
However , I agree that the show has some value:
I understand Jerry Springer partially justifies his show
by stating that it is an arena for freedom of expression
(which Americans in general seem so proud of).
I am just shocked that so many people seem to enjoy this type of arena! |
