Disadvantages: Verges on the ridiculous at times, some storys are just plain weird

The Jerry Springer Show is distributed by NBC and is a television chat show which became very popular all over the world due to its ridiculous storys and guests appearing on it.

It is hosted by Jerry Springer and has been broadcast in America before coming to the UK.

The show centres around members of the public appearing as guests on the show and telling their problem to a studio audience and Jerry himself.

Usually the aim of coming on the show it to try to resolve some issues but most of the time these end up in fights and crazy arguments.

Most guests are very dysfunctional and have issues relating to adultery, incest, teenage pregnancy, prostitution, fetishes and homosexuality.

The show was widely criticised and accused of guests being "actors" who came onto the show under the pretence that they had a problem.

If you watch an episode of this, you are likely to see familys beating each other up, audience members dancing around poles and bodyguards sending people back to their seats.

I have also seen people stripping off completely naked, members of the studio audience flashing their bits to the cameras and guests getting "married" on the show.

Some shows are a bit disgusting and i find myself turning over when it gets disturbing like incest and adult baby stories. I used to love watching this show but have started to wonder if it is all just a set up.

There have been an incredible 19 seasons of The Jerry Springer Show and the running time is 43 minutes approximately. At the end of each show, Jerry always finishes with his "final thought" which is a round up of advice in a few lines.

The show is entertaining, funny and at times ridiculous. I know loads of people who hate this show but i still find myself watching the odd episode when theres nothing else on.
