Disadvantages: seems kind of pointless

Jerry Springer is arguably the father of all talk shows. Its been around now for around 20 odd years, spawning countless episodes. Most shows are generally half an hour with several guests, all with problems ranging from cheating spouses to drug dealing children.

The credibility of the show has been questioned, with many people claiming that the show is all set up, and the guests are actually actors (this wouldn't surprise me if it was true). The audience often integrate themselves into the show, asking questions and getting into fights with the guests. If a women asks a question, more times than not she will end up 'on the pole' and expected to dance.

The show, at the end of the day, if predominantly about the fights, and is more comparable to a freak show then a talk show, however it does make for addictive watching. Jerry often takes a back seat and just watches the commotions on stage unravel, sometime deliberately antagonising the guests.

The head bouncer now has his own show, the Steve Wilkos show I believe.
Jerry Springer is a show that cant be taken too seriously, it is great to sit back and watch, makes your problems seem not that bad

Also, i forgot to mention, there is now a musical been made about the show!!

Summary: Not a bad show
