Advantages: Interesting issues

Disadvantages: Having to watch emotional conflicts that should really be violent!

I wish I knew really. I think that if ever there were a true hypocrite it would be Jerry Springer! The emotional pain and suffering that he puts his guests through to provide entertainment for us and his audience, I think is, in itself, not a totally moral way to make an honest living! His words of wisdom at the end of each show seem so well spoken that they almost make me really believe that he generated them from the bottom of his heart. He is very successful of course, having made a fortune out of hosting immoral and sexuality issues that are as taboo as anything you could dream of. I wonder if Jerry is a perfect individual. Is he more than qualified to preach on all matters concerning moral grounds? I don’t think so! The guy could almost have been a senior politician (and by that I don’t mean old)!
I am getting sick of the sight of him. Someone that brings together chalk and cheese in society, (even if it is America), in my opinion, is not far removed from a ‘badger baiter’ or ‘dogfight organiser’ for profit as far as I am concerned. Jerry does his job for money, a handful (quite a large one), of rice to speak metaphorically, and there is certainly more to life than money, - isn’t there? I like to see an insight into the real life taboo issues and the personalities that are involved, but I don’t enjoy seeing the guest’s reactions to their conflict regarded as entertainment. (I certainly don’t enjoy seeing humans’ experience emotional pain).
I think Jerry just has a job like the rest of us human mortals; he is no God. It takes all sorts to make a world.
I’d like to know who selected him to host the Miss World show! I know it was probably a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea (Terry Wogan)? But then I call Miss World entertainment don’t you?

I agree with you! His final comments are somewhat ironic in that he is parting with wisdom when apparently from the show, he has none. He really cheapened the Miss World contest (not that it is a pillar of respectability as it is!) by leering at the women and making rude jokes. Still, he's exploiting people very effectively on his show and the entertainment factor doesn't seem to be fading as the ratings are still very high.
