Advantages: Can be interesting at times
Disadvantages: The violence, is getting a bit stale now
Jerry Springer, born in London in 1944, moved to New York with his family when he was just 5 years old. He began his own talk show on 30 September 1991, and in 1998, his book was title 'Ringmaster' hit the shelves. This has got to be the most outrageous Talk Show in talk show history. Presented by the 56 yr old Jerry, the guests are nine times out of ten violent and loud. These are, apparently, people that just come off the street, and are normal, everyday people like you and me. Yeah, right! What 'normal' everyday person would get themselves in a physical fight on national TV and show themselves up like that? Well, they do! Topics covered are the normal topics covered in all talk shows like cheating partners. And going to the more bizarre like 'I'm sleeping with my Grandpa', or 'I'm sleeping with my brother'! These kind of shows have the audience gasping and in a state of shock for the duration of the show. Jerry, never really close to the cretins on the stage in case they break out in a fight, is, I find, an understanding man, and is willing to look at all angles of the argument. At the end of each show he gives his 'final thought'. A brief overview of the show, and the rights and wrongs of whatever adultery has just taken place. And, not forgetting the lovely Steve and his crew of bodyguards who try, sometimes in vain, at splitting up the group of fighters. Sometimes there can be 2, 3 or even 4 people all entangled up with each other in a bustup about something trivial. And it's up to Steve and his henchmen to disentangle them! The women, I find, are the worst to prize apart! I did used to enjoy watching this talk show, and, at times, can still be enjoyable. But, like with most things in life, has gotten just a tad stale over the years. It's been on our boxes for some 10 years now, and most subjects have been covered. I'm getting a bit tired of watchi
ng these so called people airing their dirty laundry in public and making complete fools of themselves. Jerry Springer has got a lot going for him, and could do a lot better than what he's doing now. Maybe one day he'll do a job which does not include violence and bad language.
