Newest Review: ... singer from placebo and all he was interested was telling us how good he is and how bad his life is. Well forgive me if Im wrong but I want to watch interesting light hearted programmes not suicidal rubbish. It is obviously influenced from her very poor Radio show. What is going on with Radio 1??? I thought they had caught up with the times and left their gothic, indie style in the 90's where it should stay and be forgotten and move forwards with the times and go the dance route! WRONG!!! They have all of the good dance and rap shows now by snapping up the Dreem Teem among others yet they perservere with Jo Whiley at lunchtime! Why? I do... more

That terrible show on Channel 4 needs to be axed. The guests are terrible, the host is terrible and the set is terrible. 3 people joining Jo Whiley to talk about themselves, the world, life and a bit more about themselves is really really boring. For example. I remember watching one episode with the singer from placebo and all he was interested was telling us how good he is and how bad his life is. Well forgive me if Im wrong but I want to watch interesting light hearted programmes not suicidal rubbish. It is obviously influenced from her very poor Radio show. What is going on with Radio 1??? First off I think I should say that I'm not a big Jo Whiley fan but to be fair a format of the show its quite good. You often learn more about a person in a discussion like this than perhap's an interview. The only point I think would change is that it would be so much better live. As long as it was shown after the watershed I see no problem with doing this. I'm sure a lot of good stuff is edited out of this show. I think more programmes like this are needed and in general it does do a good job in filling a serious gap of music shows on television. ...  Read the complete review

At last there is a music show on TV that covers a wide variety of music, and not just boy bands and teeny bopper tunes! Jo Whiley's programme has covered loads of different musical genres and it has also brought unusual mixes of artists into each show. The one with Ronan Keating on and the bloke from Five against the bloke from the mouthwash ad was very amusing, and also to hear Moby's liberal attitude towards just about everything. She is a good presenter who doesn't judge the artists, and usually brings the best out of her guests. I hope that this show lasts a long time, because it is miles better than any other music programme out there. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Great celeb music talk show (273 words)

Channel 4's 'The Jo Whiley Show' is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best music chat show on TV. The weekly show basically sees Mrs Whiley invite 3 music celebs to talk about music, and for good measure some music news and goss is thrown in, a star's favourite all-time song (or something in that line), and music performances or videos. It's all laid back and interesting learning about the celebs, and the news items maybe short, but get to the point. The best thing about it though is seeing conflicting celebs on the show, like the show on the end of the last series where Fat Les' Keith Allen accusses the "God" reciting Ronan ...  Read the complete review

i've never liked jo whiley much, but this past series of the show has been compulsive viewing. she does know what she's on about and the eclectic mix of guests is great for giving insight into the different genres. i remember in particular a show with brandon block, mary j blige and h from steps. the two established and talented were discussing fame and the dark side (drugs) etc. h seemed bewildered to say the least. on another show lemmy from motorhead was on with tim burgess and tom watkins (former east 17 manager). representatives of three entirely different genres but all united with a deep feeling and love of the music ...  Read the complete review
