Keeping Up Apearances is a fantastic British comedy based around a posh upper class housewife named Hyacinth Bucket and her husband Richard Bucket.
It revolves around the lives of these two and their family, friends and neighbours.

Hyacinth likes to think she is an upper class social climbing snob who thinks everyone likes her and that she can do nothing wrong and always tries to come across as being rich and important.

Generally each episode is a single episode and can be watched in any order but it is best to watch in the right order as some thing do carry on into other episodes.

The series starts off when Hyacinth's father who she calls 'Daddy' gets into an accident and is taken to hospital in an ambulance and here we get to meet two of Hyacinth's sisters; Daisy, and Rose, as well as Daisy's husband Onslow. These three all live together in a semi council house on an estate. They are the total opposite to Hyacinth in the way they are not posh and do not want to be. We first see this when we see their front garden which has an old broken car and just jumble.

With a lot of the episodes, there is often one story but what makes the episodes is the gags and humorous parts. There are several running gags throughout the show, the main ones being Hyacinth's next door neighbour Elizabeth Warden who is terrified of going round to Hyacinth's for coffee as she gets so nervous and usually makes a mess either by dropping the cup and smashing it or spilling the coffee everywhere or dropping her biscuit. Another running gag is with Hyacinth's surname Bucket. She insists that her name is pronounced 'Bouquet' even though everyone knows it is really Bucket, she does not want to have a name like that and every time someone tries to say Bucket, she quickly tells them 'Its pronounced Bouquet'

Keeeping Up Appearances is one of the best comedies (not just British comedies either) i have ever watched. You will be hurting from laughing so much after an episode and you can watch it over and over again and still enjoy it. Its just such a shame they did not make more episodes. They made 5 series, each series has a different number of episodes ranging from 5 in some through to 10 in others. They also mades some feature length christmas specials such as when Hyacinth and Richard take a cruising holiday on the QE2 and you just know it will be anything but a smooth run holiday.

I challenge anyone who doesn't like this show, its one, if not the most funniest shows i have ever watched and has some fantastic actors and actresses and what i like about it is they don't just film all in a studio, they use real outdoors, real streets and when they drive the car is actually moving and is not just green screen like with most american shows and i just love that with shows, when they go the extra mile to make the show look more realistic.

This is a one of a kind comedies, if you haven't, please try to watch it if you can and i'm sure you will enjoy it.

Summary: A fantastic British comedy
