King of the HillNewest Review: ... the quality of the animation. It is perfectly watchable, and thoroughly enjoyable, but compared to the Simpsons, it's a bit bland and sketchy (ha). Also, at around £10 to £15 for the set, 13 episodes is a bit too few for my liking, though they are all funny enough to justify the price in their own right. So to summarise, I would say that this first season of King of the Hill sets the standard for the following seasons, and provides hours of hilarious entertainment that everybody can connect with (except of course people aged less than 12, as it is certificated 12, though this is a mere guideline).... more |

As a fan of animated comedy, when King of the Hill first hit our screens back in 1997, I was keen to see how it ranked against the other animations (though only The Simpsons really stood out back then). If you haven't seen the show before, it focuses round the everyday happenings of the Hill family (comprising of father Hank, mother Peggy and only son Bobby) in and around the town of Arlen, Texas. The Hill's are your typical hillbilly family, who have hearts in the right places, but don't exactly pride themselves on their appearances and behaviour. Hank is arguably the main character of the show, and he is regularly seen (even in the opening titles) standing in the ... Read the complete review

Background The series was created by Mike Judge and Gregg Daniels the series started airing in America in January 1997, the style of animation looks like a cross between the Simpsons and Beavis and Butthead. The show is currently in its 13th series and received many awards during its lifetime including the BMI TV music award 1998 and the environmental media award in 2003 for the episode where the group try to produce an organic vegetable garden beside the school football field. Setting The series is set in Arlen Texas apparently a fictitious state based on a Dallas suburb. The town's most common features are the propane and grill shop, ... Read the complete review

This review is on king of the hill, the complete fourth series. I must say I don't watch much animated comedies, however I do quite like the Simpson's and find family guy very funny. In all honesty I have never actually watched an episode of this program before, however I got given this series for Christmas so what im going to do, is watch a few episodes, see what I think and then add more onto this review a bit later. Ok so here I am again writing what I thought of the DVD after I watched it. Now I don't want to completely slate the program just because I didn't enjoy it, maybe it is just my sense of humour, but I barely just managed to put ... Read the complete review

King of the Hill is an american animated series created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. It started production in 1997 and is currently broadcasting it's 13th season. Mike Judge is probably best known, before this, for the creation of Beavis & Butthead. In fact, there was a character on B&B that looked a little like Hank Hill and sounded exactly like him. The series revolves around the Hills, a family living in Arlen, Texas. Hank Hill is the father, a beer drinking, pick-up truck driving republican man who loves to keep his lawn trim. His wife, Peggy, is a substitute Spanish teacher who seems to have less of a good grasp of the language. They ... Read the complete review

We all know of the Simpsons, south park and Family guy and most of us have seen itleast one of these series. However with King of the Hill we have a very underated series that not many people have seen in this country despite its popularity across the globe (mainly the states). This series comes to you from "Beavis and butt-head" creator and writer Mike Judge. Whilst Beavis and butthead may not be the most mature of series it did show originality and some classic humour mixed in. It never took off over here but it has some cult status to it. King of the hill is nothing like Beavis and butthead. The comedy is much more mature as are the themes it ... Read the complete review
