Advantages: A bit of fun

Disadvantages: Clearly not real

I have to say that i was reluctant to watch the new episode of Knight Rider as i was a fan of the original Knight Rider in the 80's starring David Hasselholf. But i like to try anything once so i watched the pilot episode that was on for just over and hour and a half.

Well what can i say, the story line for the pilot series sees the creator of KITT, Charles Graiman being hunted down by Mercenaries who are after a system that Graiman designed called Prometheus, which controls the entire U.S. defense network. But obviously it is encrypted and only himself and his daughter Sarah Graiman know the encryption key. KITT voiced by Val Kilmer who is now a Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang is programmed to find Sarah and keep her safe. Once this is achieved KITT has to find Michael Traceur who is an ex army ranger and her former boyfriend and of course son of Michael Knight. Then begins the cat and mouse chase which goes on for quite abit of the episode until Sarah and her father are reunited. Mike Traceur is also reunited with his mum who he hasnt spoken to in a long time. As always things work out alright in the end. And in the final scenes the original Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) makes a cameo appearance which only lasts for about 5 minutes. It finishes with Graiman revealling that he's re-forming the Foundation, and offers Traceur the chance to drive KITT permanently, which he refuses on grounds of philosophical differences. Doesnt take him long to change is mind naturally.

Now this programme is definitely way over the top but i could not stop watching it and have since watched the second episode. Theres absolutely no way a car can do what KITT can do but by the time the programme finished i wanted that car. It can reach ridiculous speeds, a train could run into it and it wouldnt be damaged. It can change its appearance completely and of course, it can talk. Who wouldnt want it.

Cast

Mike Traceur (Justin Bruening)
Sarah Graiman (Deanna Russo)
Charles Graiman (Bruce Davison)
Voice of KITT (Val Kilmer)
FBI Agent Carrie Rivai (Sydney Tamiia Poitier)

And many more

Summary: Way over the top but worth a look
