Advantages: Good storyline. Likeable characters. Doesn't look too dated.
Disadvantages: Not many. More reacurring characters might have been nice.
Knight Rider is a classic American TV show. It was broadcast on the NBC network & ran from September 1982, to August 1986.
David Hasselhoff played Michael Knight (originally Michael Long). An ex police officer injured in the line of duty. After reconstructive facial surgery he is officialy proclaimed as deceased. He is given a new identity & recruited by the Knight Foundation to drive KITT (standing for Knight Industries Two Thousand). A Black Pontiac Trans-Am which is sentient, able to talk & equiped with artificial intelligence. Michael & KITT travel the country fighting crime of many different varieties & forms. All the time proving that one man can make a difference.
The show has spawned to movies based on the original format. It has also prompted a spin off TV series called Team Kight Rider.
More recently a modern day sequel had a pilot film made. This has since become a TV series of the same name. David Hasselhoff even made a brief appearance in his original role.
The show is an action show with dramatic elements. The episodes tell individual stories & don't have a continuing story arc, so they are easily wathced alone. Michael is likeable & his relationship with KITT is entertaining, amusing & caring. KITT's character is very good. Intelligent in many ways but also completely unaware of many emotional aspects of being alive. You don't question for one moment that this is not the personality of a car.
I really enjoy the show & would recommend it to people. The plots can be formulaic they they always have a good story & are told well. The special effects aren't bad & the show doesn't look that dated (with the exception of the clothing & the picture quality). To this day, well worth a watch
Summary: A classic TV show. Still entertaining to this day.
