I accidentally stumbled across Special Victims Unit after finding out that Law and Order had chosen to do some off shoots from the original show. So it was with intrigue and some skepticism that I started watching this show. Since surely it couldn't topple the efforts of the award winning Law and Order? This rhetorical question is unanimously disproved by the sheer quality of this show. So what is the special victims unit? it is a section of the police department which deals with brutal sex crimes.
