Law and OrderNewest Review: ... latter can be successfully prosecuted in the criminal courts. In the case of the original Law and Order the show allocates more or less equal time to the work of the two divisions responsible for successfull prosecution of the offenders, namely the Police and the office of the State Prosecutor, while the other two shows allocate much more time to the work of the Police than that of the latter ... more |

The original Law and Order and its two sister programs, Law and Order SVU (Special Victim's Unit) and Law and Order Criminal Intent are really good TV shows, as far as I am concerned. All three of the above are well thought out and well put together for captivating viewing. Something that always amazes me about really good shows, like the above, is how "believable" the actors are in the roles they play. Law and Order is just a great number of crime shows that are shown on channel 5, and with the likes of CSI and Without a Trace, this show makes some of the best drama on tv, and I have been hooked on this show for the last couple of years. Like any great show, Law and Order is set in the great city of New York, and follows the detectives of the homicide department of the New York Police Department. This is a crime show with a twist. If you want to catch up on past ... Read the complete review

Law and Order is one of those shows that can be lumped together with the likes of CSI or Numb3rs, 50 minute crime based shows where all of the people involved on the side of the law are quite good looking or very distinguished if they are past a certain age. This one is based in New York. Each episode in Law and Order follows a case from both sides of the prosecution side so the initial investigation and arrest is shown and then the prosecutors take centre stage as the case is bought to trial. In Law and Order probably more of the show is ficused on the attempts to get a conviction and the legal horse trading that takes place in the American system where ... Read the complete review

Law and Order is the longest running crime drama going, and whilst long running doesn't necessarily mean successful, in my opinion it is also the most successful crime drama ever. ~The Programme~ Each programme begins with "In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories." Set in New York, each week it follows a new crime which as been committed. Initially we are shown the work of the police detectives assigned to the case, how they being ...
