Advantages: True to life, opens your eyes!

Disadvantages: Can be abit gruesome

A life of Grime follows the work of the Environmental Health Officers and their teams. You get to see the work in the mortuary, the dog warden and the housing team along with many others. This is a real insight into how some people live, you wouldn't believe it unless you actually saw it!

They are careful what they show when they are doing the mortuary filming so as none of the deceased could be identified, but what they do show is quite enough! One of the mortuary workers is actually a woman, and she is actually a bundle of laughs. You see her preparing the dead bodies for the relatives to come and visit, and we saw her stitch up someones mouth to stop it gaping open when the relatives came!

You also see the workers clearing up houses after the tenants have been evicted. They clean up everything from faeces to drug addicts needles, and they get paid a pittance to do so! I couldn't do what they do for all the tea in China!

I think the BBC done a really good job letting us into the lives of the Environmental Health Workers, roll on the next series.

The conditions that some people live in is dreadful, but a lot of the time the people in question has problems. Makes me feel a lot better about my messy flat though!
