Charlie Crews was a police man wrongly convicted of murder, he was given life in prison. 11 years later he proves his innocence and leaves prison as a millionaire and a police detective (both his settlement from the state). his time in prison gave him a long time to reflect and he decided to replace his anger with Buddhism, this leads to a very unusual, almost child like character but due to being a police officer in prison there is also a dark side to reflect the things he done to survive that sentence. Life is a very good solid TV Show. Don't expect any out-of-this-world stoylines or anything that's hard to believe (I.e. Heroes and Lost) but expect good writing and decent acting in this quirky cop drama. Charlie Crews (Damien Lewis) is a cop back on the job after being locked up for 12 years in a top security prison for a murder he did not commit. Charlie is a changed man, he uses the way of Zen to help accept matters of life and he carries a knife around with him 'just in case'. Oh and he's been given $50m compensation!
