Advantages: Great Sketches, Very Funny

Britian, Britian, Britian. The opening words of a classic comedy. If you have never seen it, Little Britian is a comedy Sketch show featuring comedians Matt Lucas and David Walliams. The show features sketches showing people from around the British isles from all different walks of life.

The show ran for three years and was shown on BBC. The show won several awards and was a massive hit. By the third series the show had a massive cult following and was massive. The show progressively pushed the boundaries and was constantly trying to shock people and make them laugh.

Some of the sketches inlcude, Vicky Pollard, the gobby teenager. Andy and Lou, Andy in a wheelchair with Lou looking after him. Margery who runs the Fat Fighters club and basically insults all the faties. You've got David, who is the only gay in the Welsh village. There are several other sketches that are very funny.

For me the first series was the best. The sketches were so original and really funny. As the show evolved the writters tried to make the show more shocking and sick. Some of the sketches were very funny but some were just to sick. The one where the young man fancies his mates gran was just a little to sick. Some of the ones featuring Mrs Daveere who was constantly naked as she pranced around the health spar were again, just a little sick.

I think my favorite sketch was Andy and Lou. Andy was wheelchair bound but was faking it. Lou didn't know this and was always there to meet all Andy's needs. Usually Andy 'don't like that one' and would moan about everything. My favorite sketch was the one in the swimming pool where Andy dives in whilst Lou is talking to the lifeguard.

The show was so popular that they continued on with the show and made a Little Britian in America. Some of the same sketches in America and some new ones more appropriate to American life.

One of my favortite bits of the show is the naration by Tom Baker. Tom is a legend of British TV so to get him involved in the show was a great move. He comes out with some rather strange but very funny comments on British living.

Overall I do like this show, although some of the skethes do go just a little to far for me. You can still check this out on BBC 3 and there are often repeats of the show on other channels. It really is a classic comedy and one that will be popular for a long time into the future.
