Premium Review Live From Studio Five: Interesting Discussion Points and Guests (183 words)
by - written on 15/11/09 (Somewhat useful, 22 readings)

Speaking for a couple in the mid to higher end of the age bracket (48 & 61), we have switched to studio 5 from The One Show as we find the discussions much more balanced and intelligent than Christine and Adrian have to offer. Melinda is clearly well informed and offers points of view that proves she is so much more than "just an underwear model". Kate must have brains to have been selected for The Apprentice - never mind the fact that she almost won the show - yet she does not come across as irritating or egotistical. Ian is able to be Devil's Advocate or a mediator as required. We think the show offers the best of the formats for the One Show and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Live from studio 5 (209 words)

I am fed up with all the bad reviews and bad press about live from studio five, I think it is a very good entertainment show and is showing the One show how to have a bit of fun. The concept of the show is simple; 3 prestenters and a whole lot of things to talk about with some celebrities guest. It is a fun light hearted show perfect for dinner time. The presenters are Melinda Messenger, Ian Wright and Kate Walsh from the Apprentice. Surprisingly the three go really well together. The only bad thing I could say about this is that they talk about the X-factor twins (John and Edward) way too much. They say the same thing about them ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Live From Studio Five: The Blair Witch Project of Early evening chat (424 words)

A few years after he retired from football, Ian Wright has his own chat show on ITV which was actually pretty good with chat, good guests and great music, i'm not sure what happened in the meantime but this programme is a real shocker. It has an element of fear you expect from any live show but much of this is due to the Blair Witch Project presenting style of its stars, they stare into the camera with a look that mixes true fear and a desire for it all to end, unfortunately it is something that transmits to viewers, although in someways this show is so bad that it is incredibly watchable. Set in a studio, the three presenters were clearly not ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Car crash TV (208 words)

Rating:

Live from Studio Five is a magasine style show broadcast on channel five on weeknights from 18:30 to 19:30. It cover's the days news & entertainment stories in a light hearted manner. It is hosted by Ian Wright, Melinda Messenger and Kate Walsh who you may remember from The Apprentice. It all sounds good on paper but in practise it is would could only be described as car crash TV. The one only good thing I can say about the show is Ian Wright, he probably manages to hold the whole thing together. The two girls just don't seem to be able to present and there is absolutely no chemistry there between the hosts. I've even seen moments where you've got one of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Live From Studio Five: Car crash TV, dreadful and painful to watch (303 words)
by - written on 05/10/09 (Very useful, 49 readings)
Rating:

Embarrassing is the only term you can use for this car crash of a TV programme. Live from Studio Five is a magazine style show aired on Five between 6.30 and 7.30, it's presented by Ian Wright, Melinda Messenger and Kate Walsh (she was on The Apprentice). Ian Wright is the token man and he's surrounded by two token blondes, there is zero charisma or chemistry between the three and in general its painful to watch. This is a show in the same style as The One Show in that a piece is given air time and the three cast their views on the subject, there is then supposed to be a bit of banter and a bit of angst between Ian "man of the people" ...  Read the complete review
