Lock, Stock.......

Newest Review: ... of the best series ever seen on television I thought. You either love or hate these type of programmes but I love them. After the film which was superb I didn’t think anything could follow this but this series certainly did and it very well too. The story lines were along the same lines but always different twists and they got into some very weird and uncomfortable positions but always came out smelling of roses but never made any money or friends along way which was the point of doing these deeds in the first place. ... more

Loved the film, so was a bit sceptical about the series, with none of the orignal cast in. But it has got a lot of uncalled for bad press, it is not the film, it is based on the film loosely, and I think too many people expected it to be like the film and its not, it stands up in its own right. The format is basically the same, but it is different, but different is good. I never missed an episode and will buy them on video, to watch again, and I wait with anticipation of the next series. The 4 guys are great, unknowns, who will have now made their mark on the industry, dont be suprised to see them in major films in the future. The story lines are a ...  Read the complete review

After an enjoyable film, I was surprised how good the first episode of this spin off was, and the second was also not bad. But after watching a whole series, I am disappointed because every, episode is the same. The basic plot, is that the lads get some dodgey gear, which upsets someone, but also upsetting the crime lord Miama Vice, so they will have to do a job for him, in repayment for their life. The end of each episode, usually has the lads just managing to complete their task, making Miama happy and usually ends up with some one dying. The programme would have been better set out, like the first episode, which was longer in length or carry ...  Read the complete review

I thought this series was great from beginning to end. Ok, so the original actors were not in it, but what do people expect? Still present was the stylish camera work, great black humour and abrasive script. The London underground is depicted as being rife with lots of gun-happy mobsters all kept in check by a select few big men, the likes of Miami Vice. The main gang members are all well portrayed and each character is given a bit of development, so that they are not all one-dimensional. One problem I did have was that Miami Vice's henchman 'three feet' was shot dead in one episode then resurrected the next, when I thougt the series was chronological. Premium Review Lock, Stock.......: A good spin off (193 words)

Lock Stock... is a very good and entertaining spin off from the film of the same name. Its genre is set on a bunch of London's finest crinimals with plenty of laughs and plenty of cockney lingo. The tv series has similar main characters like Miami Vice instead of Hatchet Harry and 3 Feet instead of Barry the Baptist. Its a good 1 hours entertainment which follows the same sort of plot week in week out - which works for this series, maybe not the next! The plot centres around the lads of The Lock pub in the east end of London who usually get into a dodgy deal or situation which leads them into conflicts with Miami Vice plus another bunch if misfits each week.
