Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Newest Review: ... for him Lois is rather enamoured with the new super hero on the scene, Clark's alter ego Superman. Unable to reveal his identity Clark has to frequently rescue Lois as she gets herself into dangerous situation after dangerous situation in search of a good story (and a Pulitzer) while trying to keep his identity hidden. ***Characters*** This series isn't your typical superman story. It may have all the key plots in place, including the sidekick Jimmy Olson and the villainous Lex Luthor but the dynamic between Lois and Clark are completely different from the 70's classic films. Clark is nowhere near as quiet and bumbling as he has b... more

The New Adventures of Superman was the Superman I grew up with. Airing during the 1990's with Dean Cain as Clark Kent/Superman and Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane. ***Plot*** The series begins with Clark moving to the city of Metropolis and searching for a job at the biggest newspaper company there, The Daily Planet. It's there that Chief Perry White teams up Clark with the feisty and determined reporter Lois Lane. Clark instantly takes a liking to Lois but unfortunately for him Lois is rather enamoured with the new super hero on the scene, Clark's alter ego Superman. Unable to reveal his identity Clark has to frequently rescue Lois as she gets herself ...  Read the complete review

Yet another version of the Superman stories, this time featuring Dean Cain as the eponymous, clean-cut hero. As in all the stories, he doubles as a reporter for the Daily Planet when he isn't out saving the world. His attraction to his co-reporter, Lois Lane, makes covering his identity more difficult, especially when he keeps using his powers to further his journalistic interests. Jimmy and The Kat bumble along attempting to be journalists whilst Lex Luther uses his massive personal fortune to pursue his quest for world domination. As a drama series, nothing really distinguishes it from any other series. Clark and Lois are given a new quest each week. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman: A Superman for the 1990s (377 words)

LOIS AND CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN truly provided us with a Superman for the 1990s. The show was simply called THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN when shown on BBC1 for reasons which I could never quite fathom out. The show featured Dean Cain as Superman/Clark Kent and Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane. I never cared much for Margot Kidder in the Superman movies of the 1970s and 80s (as you can see if you read my opinions on those movies) but Hatcher truly fit the bill. She was smart, sexy, sophisticated, sassy - everything that Lois should be, especially as that is precisely what she is/was in the current run of the comic books (published by DC Comics by the ...  Read the complete review

I never really liked Superman the films, they were just slighty to cheesy for my liking. But for some reason i was always quite entertained. The basic premise is that Superman who is played by Dean Cain protects the city from evil. Every week there was some one new with a scheme to either bring the city to its knees, become very rich, kill superman, or unearth who superman. That said it was always fresh and always entertaining, made even more some by the lovely Terri Hatcher who plays Lane. There not a lot more to say as everyone knows the story of superman, and that everyone knows that the whole world must be stupid not to see that Clark Kent is ...  Read the complete review
