This is a programme almost entirely devoted to the personal lives of a group of people who are apparently firefighters. I suppose having endless series about the other emergency services - police, hospitals, er vets it is de rigeur to have one set in a fire station. Unfortunately (and I suppose thankfully) there are only a limited number of ways the writers can use this background. Hence the fact that the personal lives of the characters swamp the occasional work they have with a hose or the jaws of life. LONDONS BURNING!!! A very realistic drama based on the fire fighters in Londons Blackwall area. This has been on our screens for some time now and I love it. The story lines are good and the action is packed into most of the shows. There is a story line to it as well which sometimes takes over the show rather than fighting fires. When the show first blasted onto our screens it was fast and fiery!! But as the show was shown on Sunday evenings each week and everyone got used to the characters the fires became less and more towards the last ten minutes of the program, which is on for an hour. Every now and then there would be a fantastic build up ...
