Advantages: actors, storylines
Disadvantages: none, none, none
Lost In Space was the most imaginative show on tv. The storylines were so creative and unlike anyother sci-fi show on tv. This was really Irvin Allen's best work of his tv and movie producing career. This series premiered in 1965 staring Guy Williams(Zorro), June Lockhart(Lassie, Petticoat Junction), Mark Goddard(Johnny Ringo), Marta Kristen(Beach Blanket Bingo), Billy Mummy(Twilight Zone), Angela Cartwright(Make Room For Daddy, Sound of Music), Johnathan Harris, and rounding out the cast was Bob May and Dick Tutfield playing the robot. Bob May was in the robot suit and Dick Tutfield was the voice of the robot. Dick Tutfield was also the narrator on the show. I would have to say that the funniest and craziest episode was the Great Vegetable rebellion. In this episode, Dr. Smith turns into a carrot. Sometimes when the cast member are asked what there favorite episode is they will say the Great Vegetable Rebellion as a joke. As a result of this episode, Guy Williams and June Lockhart were written out of the next two episodes by Irvin Allen because they could not stop laughing at the craziness of this episode. The first season, which was in black and white, was the best season. This season had the most intelligent storylines and really let you know more about the other characters besides Dr. Smith and the Robot. For example, in this season, you find out that Professor Robinson is a very religious man, and that the Professor and his wife have a warm and loving relationship. The only thing about the show was that Judy was rarely ever featured in any of the episodes except for one during the first season. The episode was about some strange plants that had grew on the planet they were on. She fell into one of them and an imposter came out instead of the real Judy. Despite of the camp that this show display, I would recommend this sci-fi classic that lasted from 1965-1968 with its last episode titled Junkyard in Spa
ce to viewers of all ages. All 83 episodes are great to watch.
