The Island appears to be magical as one man who was once paralysed from the waist down can now go hunting alone in the Island, and another is seeing his dead father walking around. Each week we follow a survivor as they re-live flashbacks from their lives before the crash. This is the best programme to appear on out TV's for a while now.... more

The fact that the BBC has sold this 50 minute documentary to more foreign networks than any other in its long history is testament to the quality and gripping nature of the programme. The programme follows last year's expedition to try and find the bodies of George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. The aim was to discover if Hillary and Tenzing really were the first to climb Everest in 1953. Mallory and Irvine were last seen alive "going strong for the top" some 100m or so below the summit of Mt. Everest.
