Advantages: Great interviewing, great humour and great entertainment

Disadvantages: We don't see enough of him

As television presenters go, what a breath of fresh air Louis Theroux is. There is nothing run-of-the-mill, boring or predictable about his programmes and his interviewing techniques are amazing. More often than not, I am sure the people he interviews forget they are being filmed and just end up chatting away to him as though no-one else were present.

Louis Theroux unearths the most fascinating people and subjects to investigate then share with us and for that I really appreciate him. He brings us the best of the weird and every programme has me glued to the set from the very start. He has this sort of boyish casual attitude which ensures that he doesn't irritate anyone and he has a way of becoming one of the group he is with. He will edge a question in without preamble and people really warm to him.

Louis Theroux's programmes generally seem to be set in America, a country which seems to have more than its fair share of weird and wonderful people and he won't just stop at one type of person; he roots out all the people involved so that he can get a comprehensive feel of the subject in question. I think he is very brave because he sometimes gets himself into difficult and unusual scrapes and then just charms his way out of them. He'll have a go at anything yet he looks as if he'd run a mile from a tricky situation. His non-aggressive yet quietly insistent questioning brings out more in a person than all the 'in-your-face' celebrity 'presenters' put together.

Louis Theroux is one of the UK's greatest assets and long may he continue to provide us with some of the greatest entertainment around.

Summary: I could watch his programmes all day
