Just lately I have really been loving my Tuesday night viewing and it's all down to a little publicised programme on BBC2 called Maestro. You might think it's another of those programmes about celebrities doing things different from their day jobs - which it is- but it's all absolutely fascinating viewing as well! It's quite similar to the format of Strictly Come Dancing (which I love) but here the celebrities are not learning how to ballroom dance but how to conduct an orchestra. Maestro is yet another reality show that takes celebrities out of their comfort zone and let them have a crack at a skill they may, like the viewer; think is easier than it looks. There are two versions of this format. One is where the challenge is genuinely tough and the celebrities will have to commit themselves to the task ahead. The second is the one where we are here just to see the celebrity humiliated through an inane exercise and, of course, they are fully aware of that, but desperate to get the work to stay in the limelight for one last flicker of fame.
