MaisyNewest Review: ... of childrens programmes are infinately better on cbbc. Having said that, Maisy is the jewel in citv's crown. Small children require simple, bold pictures. Too much information turns them off and they loose interest. In my book, Lucy Cousins is God. She can do no wrong. My daughter even loves her nursery rhyme books, which , incidentally hav nothing to do with Maisy, but do share the same artistry. Every trip to the library without fail brings home Maisy and Lucy Cousins books in one shape or form, no matter how many times we've allready read them! Maisy programmes and videos have my normally hyperactive daughter rivited to t... more |

Mo79 obviously does not have children. If he did, he would certainly be eating his words. My 21 month old daughter adores Maisy. She loves her books, videos and tv programmes. They are entertaining, stimulating and grab the attention of toddlers in the way no other does. Neil Morrisey is fantastic as the narrator (even better than on Bob, in my opinion) and the sound effects have my daughter chirruping away in unison. I do agree with Mo79 that overall the quality of childrens programmes are infinately better on cbbc. Having said that, Maisy is the jewel in citv's crown. I am not going to explain the ins and outs of Maisy Mouse and her friends, because you are probably already aware who she is! I just thought I would bring it to the attention of all those poor mums who have to endure the video and books etc that have to be virtually crow-barred out of their little ones fingers before they go to bed that all is not lost! You can put them to bed in the knowledge that they will never have to be parted from their little friend at bedtime again (well, perhaps not for another year of so anyway!). I bought a pack of Maisy Mouse wall stickers for my daughters bedroom and she ... Read the complete review

As the mother of a two year old with a very short attention span, I find Maisy Mouse is an ideal program for toddlers. The storys are clear and simple and easy for a small child to follow. Neil Morrisey's narration is excellant, proving that he is indeed a man who does not always behave badly1 It is bright and olourful, and holds my daughters attention for the whole of each episode, which is no mean feat! The story content is alys acceptable, from a mothers point of view it helps to teach our children the sort of behaviour and morals we wish them to learn. The tv series is supported by excellant books and videos, which are a godsend if you have ... Read the complete review

I would have to completely disagree with mo79 who cannot see the point of Maisy. My 18 month old daughter absolutely loves Maisy the Mouse. The brightly coloured and simply illustrated cartoon follows the adventures of maisy Mouse and her friends. Narrated by Neil Morrisey, the stories teach children many life skills. My daughter has her own cuddly Maisy which she takes everywhere with her. She also has 2 videos and several of the books, which are extremely educational, with lift up flaps for young children to discover. The children love the brightly coloured, simple, uncluttered illustrations and can relate extremely well to the items in the pictures, useful for early ... Read the complete review

What is the point of Maisy? How is a sad little cartoon mouse girl in a simple animated world with boring easily pleased friends entertaining? Come on, I might not be a kid anymore, but I'm sure kids don't fall for this third rate tripe these days...Or do they? If they do, I pity them. Parents, when Maisy's on, make sure that your kid's tuned into a better programme on CBBC instead, or just turn the TV off. Maisy is boring, and she's a bit too *squaky* to be enjoyed...Yawn! ...
