Mo79 obviously does not have children. If he did, he would certainly be eating his words. My 21 month old daughter adores Maisy. She loves her books, videos and tv programmes. They are entertaining, stimulating and grab the attention of toddlers in the way no other does. Neil Morrisey is fantastic as the narrator (even better than on Bob, in my opinion) and the sound effects have my daughter chirruping away in unison.

I do agree with Mo79 that overall the quality of childrens programmes are infinately better on cbbc. Having said that, Maisy is the jewel in citv's crown.

Small children require simple, bold pictures. Too much information turns them off and they loose interest. In my book, Lucy Cousins is God. She can do no wrong. My daughter even loves her nursery rhyme books, which , incidentally hav nothing to do with Maisy, but do share the same artistry.

Every trip to the library without fail brings home Maisy and Lucy Cousins books in one shape or form, no matter how many times we've allready read them! Maisy programmes and videos have my normally hyperactive daughter rivited to the spot, giving me the chance to rush around and catch up on some household chores. Maisy videos are also excellent for those dreadful ill days when all they want to do is curl up on Mums knee.
