The idea of Man's Work is that a flabby weedy Southern Brit who has never done a day's work begins doing what he believes are "The Hardest Jobs in the World". Although it is debatable what makes a hard job, there is a nice range of employment options that he takes up. In most cases they are slightly specialist jobs though and it's merely for the programme that he ends up there in the first place.
