Married...With Children is an American sitcom that ran from 1987 until 1997, making over 250 episodes. It centres around the Bundy family and their quirks, and is a comedy that sets them all against each other, and how they are willing to sell each other out to get what they want.

Ed O'Neill plays the head of the head of the family, Al Bundy, a former high-school football star down on his luck turned women's shoes salesman. He lives the regular Joe, regular job, slob kind of lifestyle, and is constantly cynical of the world and resentful towards everything. His wife, Peggy, is played by Katey Sagal. Peggy totters around the house in high heels and big hair, hips and cleavage, looking for an excuse to spend Al's money. They have two kids: Kelly, played by Christina Applegate, is a beautiful but stereotypically dumb blonde, and Bud is a bit of a jock, but nerdy with it. The two kids regularly have dates, and are confident, although BUd, played by David Faustino, often finds himself humiliated, much to Al's amusement.

Incidentally, to give you an idea of what this family is like, Bud is named after Al's favourite beer, Budweiser, Kelly used to read before she banged her head, and being born ion February she is an Aquarium, Peggy's maiden name is Wanker, and Al is afraid of having sex with his wife.

The comedy is definitely American, with a lot of the jokes lost on me. However, the majority of the time I can get the gist of what is going on and I actually laugh out loud. The acting is brilliant, and through the ten years of the show, the cast manage to adapt their characters and get them down to a T - perfect typecast acting. Only Christina Applegate has gone on to make a bigger name for herself on screen after the show, but everyone on the show deserves full credit for a thumbs up!

Summary: Married...With Children - good stuff
