Advantages: Rounds up all the games, and the pundits are very good

Disadvantages: The female commentator especially

Ok, let me start first by saying that i hate it when footbal is on the BBC, and i dont like the arguement that a national sport should always be available for everyone to watch either. First of all, its not, you have to pay for your tv licence, so its not free, secondly, you are ruining it for everyone who has access to sky, or a pub which has sky.

BBC commentators and coverage through the camera angles, replays, etc is shambolic, saved only by itv and channel 5 being even worse. You cannot beat sky for football, Martin Tyley and Andy Gray are the best commentators, and the coverage is fantastic.

Ok, having got that out of the way, obviously i watch watch match of the day every week. Partly because the other option on Sky is to watch the whole game, which you cant do to watch all the games. The other reason is that i do actually like the hosts, i think Gary Lineker, Alan Hansen and Martin Lawrensen are all good pundits, as are Alan Shearer, Ian Wright or whoever else they sometimes have on. And i just dont understand that when they have got good pundits, why they cant get good commentators or splash out and get more cameras.

Now here comes the part where you may think i am being sexist, although im not (at least i think im not); that women commentator they have on one of the games is awful, i have to watch the game on mute. Im not sure if they still have her, as sometimes i have drifted off towards the less exciting games, but who gave her the job? I think that is the sexist decision, just because she is a woman, she got the job to try and make it look like the BBC are equal oportunity employers.

Dont get me wrong, as i dont think all women know nothing about football, watch Sky Sports news, and you will see a few that know what they are on about, and you can tell that they could talk to anyone about football, but the one on BBC is shambolic.

There are also men who get the job (i dont know how) who I cant stand listening to, two of which spring to mind, firstly on Sky Sports (to prove im not just biased) Ian Payne, who drives me mad, but the worst offender in my opinion is John Motson.

I know he knows loads about football, and has an encyclopedic mind for the facts, but i just cant stand listening to him commentate, i dont know if anyone else agrees.

Let me know what your opinions are, and if i am just biased towards sky.

Summary: Let Sky do it.
