Match of the Day is a brilliant football highlights programme that normally starts at 10pm on a Saturday night and shows the highlights of all the various Premier League matches for those of you who missed the action for some reason or another.

The programme is hosted by Gary Lineker and other football pundits like Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson and Alan Shearer. The programme starts with the big matches of the day like Manchester United or Chelsea which is good in my opinion as I support Man United these games are normally more exciting. However some people don`t like this because it means the smaller clubs get less screen time.

The programme starts with long highlights of a couple of big matches and then following the match the pundits talk about mistakes, great pieces of skill and other interesting things which are well worth listening to. After the big matches there are brief highlights of the other games and a little bit of analysis about them but nowhere near as much as the big teams get.

This show is one of my favourite TV shows and is a brilliant way to catch up on the action and see how various teams are doing. I like to watch the programme without knowing the results from the matches as it makes it more enjoyable and a bit of a surprise to see the goals! Match of the Day 2 is also shown sometimes which is normally on a Sunday. Overall I really like Match of the Day to catch up on the football goals and results from the day and I am very happy to have it our screens!
