Meet the AncestorsNewest Review: ... and recreate not only the person but the times they lived in. Often, therefore a grave yard or church is the starting point, but sometimes a battlefield or residential site may provide the impetus. Once the context of the grave has been examined, complete with any finds or other interesting data, the skull is taken to a facial reconstruction expert, and using the same techniques as used by criminal forensic investigators the face can then be built up into a recognisable face. Theses two together seem to have spawned a whole host of copy cat programs and very few seem to have come close to the quality and originality of these originals. As a result, the programme can be seen to be a bit flat, especially if it is compared to Time Team with the energetic and enthusiastic Tony Robinson. If you are interested in history and the recreation of the past it is worth watching as it is a high quality programme. If you want flamboyant archaeologists bouncing around fields this s not the programme for you. ...
