Lets get this out of the way, im a HUGE fan of the 80's, I love everything about that Decade, to the Music, the TV and so much more, and nothing embodies that Decade like this TV Series, I recently watched all 5 seasons on DVD after not watching it for probably about 10 years at least, and I loved pretty much every minute of it. The Premise : The show follows Miami Vice undercover Detective James " Sonny" Crockett,( Don Johnson ) a former University of Florida football star, who after an injury was forced to retire and ended up drafted into the US Army and served to tours in Vietnam, after he got out the military he joined the Miami Police ... I have just "reseen" the opening episodes of Miami Vice on Granada Plus and was reminded why I enjoyed it first time round. Yes it is a standard police drama with a pair of not quite friends as the main detective characters and there are the usual high speed chases each episode. However as it is set in Miami many of these chases have the addes thrill of being on the water. The location also offers a change of scene from the usual grimey streets of New York or L.A. Oh and one main character (played by Don Johnson) has a pet alligator. The story lines are often set around drugs and Cubans - as these are still relevant topics today perhaps this helps to ...
