Misfits TV Programme

Newest Review: ... they're going through rather than just being entertained spectators. The success of Misfits rests on the five leads and their interaction. Kelly is hard as nails, wears a Croydon facelift and can read people's thoughts; Simon is a shy, socially inept and slightly creepy arsonist who can turn invisible; pretty girl Alisha turns people wild with lust at the touch of her skin; up-and-coming sports star Curtis, shamed by a drugs conviction can rewind time; and the incomparably gobby, obnoxious and crude Nathan can... well, can he do anything apart from be utterly unembarrasable? (No spoilers here!) With the brilliant and exuberant Nathan and... more

Misfits tells the story of five self-styled ASBO kids thrown together for their community service. But early on a mysterious lightening storm strikes, leaving them (and others) with superpowers, and their probation worker as a homicidal maniac. I've been inspired to write this review because, having seen the first series but missed the second when it aired on E4 and Channel 4, we're currently halfway through series 2 on DVD and loving it! Misfits is often described as a cross between Heroes (which I never watched) and Skins (which I've watched for five minutes and just felt way way way too old!). It certainly creates a very successful mix between the weird ...  Read the complete review

Misfits is a brilliant comedy drama, that comes on E4, produced by Clerkenwell Films about 5 young adults who adapt super powers after an unusual storm. When I first saw the advertisements for this show it didn't leave me wanting to watch the show. I never did watch it the first time round it was on E4 but when they showed it for a second time round I decided to watch it as I was bored and I heard it was good from others. I was pleasantly surprised as it was much better then I expected. I watched the second episode next time it was on leaving me wanting more, so I decided to watch all the other episodes on 4OD the following days. The show has only had one, 6 ...  Read the complete review

Misfits: Superhero teen comedy with a dark twist (175 words)

I have to admit, the first time I saw this show advertised, I was skeptical and unsure of what to think. Upon taking the time out to watch it on E4 when it finally aired last year, I wasn't disappointed. Five young adults undertaking community service get caught in some form of a supernatural storm which gives them special powers. It may sound cheesy and awfully "Heroes" but don't let this fool you. Along with an intense and addictive storyline and a fantastic cast of characters, this series manages to keep you immersed all the way through. The acting is flawless, the humour is top-notch, and the music and setting makes up the rest. ...  Read the complete review

I absolutely loved the first series of this on E4. I'm not sure if they are making a second series but I really hope they do as it was brilliant. I think there were only about 8 episodes in the series, but they were definitely all action packed, and full of comedy. The series is based on a group of 5 youths, which are all doing community service for some sort of crime they have committed. Whilst doing their service they are all outside during a giant storm, and shortly after they realise they have all gained some sort of power from the storm. As the series goes on you learn more about their individual personalities and the actual crimes they ...  Read the complete review

Misfits: Un-misfit-able (376 words)

Un-misfit-able E4's Misfits - a teenage british drama/dark comedy wonderfully twisted with elements of 'Mist' (strange storm), 'Heroes' (supernatural powers) and Shaun of The Dead (crazy Tony) worked really well back in late 2009 (it's still available on 4od) and after only 6 episodes left me longing for more even though my teen years are well behind me as I thought it was very original and another much needed triumph of british telly. As 5 young offenders 'paying society back' for their sins in local community centre overlooking monumental council estate ('Beautiful Thing' springs to mind), discover their out-of-this world powers caused by recent ...  Read the complete review
