The idea behind the series is that a team of government operatives know as the IMF (Impossible Missions Force) are sent on a different mission in each episode. We always see some of the preparation for the missions, but we're never told exactly what will be done. The most interesting aspect of the show is the step-up for the mission, and then actually seeing whether the plan works out. I always enjoy watching the repeats of this classic series whenever it is on, as each episode is excellent in its own way. When the series was adapted into a film a few years ago, the thing that surprised me the most was that it had taken such a long time for it to happen!
