Advantages: Funny, improvised comedy

Disadvantages: some of the guests arent funny

A funny and comedic panel show that has sprung up on TV over the last couple of years, Mock The Week now appears to be one of the most popular panel shows on UK television. Usually shown on BBC2 and hosted by Dara O'Brien, the show is pretty much an excuse for a group of comedians to sit around and tell jokes.

Over the course of the shows history, one comedian has emerged to the point where he pretty much dominates the current shows - that man is Frankie Boyle. I find him very funny but alot of his humour is quite dark - a fact that saw him and the show get into a bit of hot water recently for making a joke about the Queen.

The show consists of different rounds where the comedians have to improvise, do stand up routines and guess what abbreviations mean. The improvisational element of the show makes it unpredicatable but is is also highly funny. Dara even starts the show with a short stand up section where he tells a few gags about the weeks events. Hugh Dennis, Frankie Boyle, Russel Howard and Andy Parsons are the regulars on the show which also sees a guest on each side joining them each episode.

Summary: A cracking show with plenty of jokes and good host
