A great comedy show that gives you a bit of current affairs news whilst you're at it (Mock The Week)

Mock the Week is a tv program which is fairly similar to Have I got News For You. In the show there are two teams of three comedians who must compete over several tasks. Firstly let me emphasise that this is really just a front for the show, there is no meaning to who wins at the end of the show and the program just focuses on comedy.

The tasks they compete in are things such as a question and answer round, guess the question round and also rounds which require improvisation. The first tasks that I mentioned have a somewhat predictable nature where after the question is made, a few jokes are made and then eventually somebody will pipe up with the right answer.

Although this may sound a bit odd, the format works really well and together the comedians come up with some really funny stuff. Granted not everything that they say is funny, but by and large they are pretty good. This leads onto the comedians themselves. There are a core group of comedians such as Frankie Boyle, Hugh Dennis, Russell Howard and Andy Parsons who are on nearly every show. Each show then has another couple of comedians guesting. I had never heard about the four mentioned comedians before watching the show however they are really great and they have different styles of comedy which all combine very well.

Summary: Worth watching- you can catch it on Dave all the time
