Advantages: One of the best comedy programmes on TV at the moment

Mock the Week, works very much in the same vein as Have I got News For You, in that it is a news satire programme, but is more modern format, and is done in a les formal format.

The show consists of a presenter and three comedians for each team. The main presenter of the show and the person that conducts procedings is Dara O Brien. Originally there was two team captain, Hugh Dennis and Rory Bremner, but Bremner has since quit the show. There are three other permenant member of the show, on the same team as Dennis is Frankie Boyle (who I personaly is the best on the show, with his often dark and morbid sense of humour). On the other team, in a sense replacing Bremner is Russell Howard and Andy Parsons. The remaining two other places are left to guest panelists, one for each team.

There are a number of games that are played within the show, these are headliners, a headline from the weeks newspapers; Spinning News, originally all 6 played this game but it has been reduced to just four which I believe has improved this game; If this is the Answer What is the Question, a topic is chosen and an anwer is given to which the teams have to guess what the answe was; but the section I particularly like is Scenes we'd like to see, in this section of the programme all six of the comdeians play the game and are given a topic and the comedians give answers that are unlikely to really to appear.

The best element of the programme in my opinion is Frankie Boyle, as it is often his dark humour that I find most comical, as he expresses humor in a way mosy other comedians would not.

I would recommend this programme to any body that enjoys comedy programme, even if they do not like programmes associated within current news events, as the humour is so good. This is what sets it apart from other news satire programmes as it with comedians, so you know you are going to laugh.
