Advantages: regulars are hilarious, funny presenter
Disadvantages: nothing
Where should I start....Well first of all if you like a comedy quiz show then this is definitely up your street. Mock the Week has been around for a while now and has brought with it a very popular following with a huge fan base of millions. If you enjoy programs such as the very funny Never mind the buzzcocks or even the more upper class Qi then you will certainly enjoy what Mock the Week has to offer.
Shown on BBC2 and also on Dave. On BBC2 they show the new series and on Dave they show the past series and reruns. They are shown on Dave any time after nine. On BBC2 they are shown at 9pm on a thursday if the series is showing.
The main person and presenter of the program is the very funny irish comedian Dara O'Brien. He normally opens the show with a couple of funny jokes from the previous weeks news. The show revolves around things that happened in the news the previous week. Then the panelists answer questions given to them but answer them in funny ways.
On the show there two teams of three panelists. There are four regulars to the show that are on almost every week. Russell Howard, Frankie Boyle, Andy Parsons and Hugh Dennis are the main regulars. All of them very highly rated comedians and all of them give the show something and help towards its success.Every show there are also two other panelists and these vary from week to week. On the show there has been comedians such as Micheal Mcintyre and Al Murray.
My favourite thing about Mock the Week
MY favourite has to be the panelist by the name of Frankie Boyle. One of Britains most highly rated stand up comedians and comedy writers Frankie brings to the show a very funny perspective. Every show he has me in fits of laughter by his jokes and sense of humour. Frankie also doesn't care what he says and many times has everyone wincing at his words.
Overall
Mock the Week is without a doubt one of the greatest comedy shows on tele at the moment. Easily equals shows such as Have I got news for you and for me even goes above it. I am very happy that it is back for a new series.
Rating
A massive 10 out of 10
Summary: really funny comedy show that guarantees laughs every time you watch it.

- 10/07/09 I love it when they improvise over news footage - there was a hilarious one with Boris Johnson talking about buses. |
