Mole, TheNewest Review: ... from the game, until (in Episode 8) we are left with just 2 contestants and The Mole. Needless to say, The Mole cannot be eliminated! What works about the game then? Is it the challenges? The contestants? The presenter? The elimination procedure? The mystery of who the mole is in itself? Well, in all honesty it is a combination of all of those things. The challenges range from simple brainteaser questions, to 27 hour endurance marathons, to contestants dressing up as a bear to try and get a free pass into the next episode, to walking a highwire, whilst keeping your pulse below 130 bpm! The range of challenges makes the game so much more ... more |

As a penniless student, I have no money for a TV license, therefore I watch no TV. However, when I heard that The Mole was returning for a second series I quickly rang my mum and begged her to record each episode for me and send it to my address as I have a TV but no license! This is because it is quite simply a wonderful programme. It is a gameshow in the style of a mixture of The Crystal Maze, Big Brother and Treasure Hunt with a bit of added intrigue for the viewers. Ten contestants start in Episode 1 and have to compete in a series of challenges throughout 8 episodes, with the total prize money coming to a whopping £200,000. There is a catch. In reality ... When this show first hit the screens, there wasn't that much hype concerning it, but then after the first few episodes, it started to get reviews from such establishments as the Daily Mail. Since then, it has received an adequate following and for me was extremely compelling and addictive to watch! I found that the narator/presenter was an essential part to the show's success. His calm and clear voice suggested who was the Mole to the audience, and he seemed to get on with all the contestants well. After 21 days, and 7 people leaving the show, the final 3 contestants were left. Anyone familiar with the show, would know they were Zi, David and ... Read the complete review

Now that 'The Mole' finally finishes after it's highly successful run tommorow, I felt that i just had to give the big thumbs up to this programme. Hopefully the series will be shown again sometime for all of those who missed it first time around. For a long time now, Channel 5 has traditionally lost out badly to other T.V channels in the Friday night entertainment battle. Going for the more action/adventure gameshow, it has only attracted small audiences and has produced some genuine rubbish. However, this has recently been altered by the appearance of the new show 'The Mole'. For those of you who don't know this a is a gameshow which ... Read the complete review

The tension continues in each episode! This weeks challenge involved sliding down a rope across the sea. The worst bit seemed to be standing on the ledge of the second world war tower ready to jump! Three contestants had to complete the challenge and then answer one question. Sounds easy? Not when the tho two girls admitted being afraid of heights!. Never mind, the chaps could easily manage it and grab the prize money. Oddly, only Zi completed the task. The other men and Sara failed to answer the question correctly. Now who was playing mole? Lets turn up the heat. David went off for the day, secretly filmed. The rest of the group had to predict how he ... Read the complete review

Yes! 'The Mole' is back and it's even better than the largely ignored original. The format is unchanged with ten contestants, five men and five women. The group covers a similar range of ages and ethnic backgrounds with perhaps slightly more personality than the last. At the time of writing only two eliminations have been carried out so the identity of the mole is still a mystery to this amateur sleuther at least. The setting this time is British Columbia in Canada and frankly it knocks Jersey into a cocked hat. The challenges are also more exotic with stunt planes and bomb defusing all part of the fun. The challenges are somewhat harder with the ... Read the complete review
