Advantages: Scary

Disadvantages: Scary

I was only a small child. So young. So innocent. I was too darn young to see something as...frightening as the Moomins.
Huge white hippos who can talk? Little My and her pointy nose? AN ICE MONSTER WHO SILENTLY TURNS ALL IN HER PATH TO ICE???
The first series of the Moomins was a dark, menacing affair, all paper cut-outs and flickering lights. And yet I sat, transfixed for every installment. Glued to my seat by fear alone. Fear I tell you.
The Moomins frightened me like only the child-catcher in Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang had before. Clearly kids are made of sterner stuff in the wilds of Scandinavia.
However, even I shed a tear when the Moomins was remade as a Japanese cartoon, which all of the weird scary stuff, but with a crayzee cheery theme tune TO LURE YOU IN. But still, it just wasn't the same.
I don't know, kids tv isn't what it was. I challenge Pokemon or any of these fancy-pants new fangled trendy shows to scare children witless. HA! I throw down the gauntlet.

Nice to see that one of the Moomins is now happily employed on Eastenders playing Sonia.

(this is the second time I have made the Sonia is a moomin joke, and nobody took me on, so just ignore me and move on)
