It was a couple of years ago when I first watched Most Haunted properly, I had seen a couple of the Live episodes and never really took much notice of them. I have always been a sceptic and not really believed in the paranormal until a couple of years ago.

A friend of mine had an accident at work and was off work for quite a long time, not going out and being stuck within 4 walls most of the time, she didn't do a great deal however became obsessed with the like of Tarot Cards and watching programs like Most Haunted. I used to go around a lot to see her and she began telling me and her partner that things were happening in her house. I first thought she was staying in too much and thought she was cracking up and just agreed with her to humour her. I think her partner agreed and I think he started to lose patience with these stories, until one day she called him at work and said that weird things were happening in the house he went home and apparently witnessed it with his own eyes, an object went flying across the room, and went through the glass in the kitchen door. Until this day I don't know what happened on that day because I didn't see for myself, however thats when I started to be more open minded and started watching Most Haunted.

Most Haunted features a team including Yvette Fielding and Karl Beattie who travel around to various locations, majority in the UK, accompanied by various mediums, historians, parapsychologists and sceptics. The places that they visit have normally been recommended and have had sightings of paranormal activities by local people. The Most Haunted Team then goes in the investigate.

Other the years, we have seen likes of medium's Derek Acorah and David Well enter these places with the team, who walk round with them and basically advise them of what they feel. If they feel a presence within the place, who it is and there reasons for being there. With historians on hand, they are able to confirm that the information they are providing them with is true or not. On most occasions, the mediums are aither correct on what they say or very close to what has actually happened there, however I am still somewhat sceptic as to whether it is all staged or not.

In most episodes, whether it be something like a stone being thrown or light anomolies, something always happens which also leaves me to believe could this happen on every occasion, surely they could enter a place and nothing happens so this does seem strange to me. People seem to get posessed by a spirit, however this something that also could be staged. However I do think on occasions when sometimes people get hurt or possibly sick, would they go all that trouble to stage this and is it really real.

Each episode lasts for around one hour, the first 20 minutes or so is dedicated to the team walking around during the day and the mediums give them their experience and information as to whether their are any spirits present. The latter half of the show is dedicated to the team doing sceances, individual vigils and team tasks to see whether anything happens. The last part of show normally is sum up of the evening events, normally by parapyschologist who will give possible alternative explanations as to why things have happened during the evening, however on some occasions he is unable to give an explanation without looking into footage more closely.

At the end of the day, I still watch it because I enjoy it, but for some reason I am not 100% certain that this program is not staged and if anyone can shed any light on his for me, it would be much appreciated.
