Advantages: good to watch, evidence on camera

Let's just get this out of the way, I am addicted to watching this programme and yes I do get a lot of stick for it. I'm willing to admit that on some occassions the 'ghostly activity' does seem a bit suspicous and as though they've had to do a spot of ad lib every now and again but what about those moments you cannot possibly explain. A piano captured playing but with nobody there, a bed moving by itself or one of the crew getting unexplained cuts on his back.

Shown on LivingTV usually at 9pm on Tuesdays, Yvette Fielding and co investigate supposed haunted buildings to seek out and provide any evidence that ghosts are real. All very simple and not a unique programme idea but somehow Most Haunted has managed to keep its viewers interested for just over 7 years now!

It lasts for an hour, bit less because of ad breaks, and more or less builds up to the best bits. At the beginning of each episode it's all very talky. They have their usual walk through so you know a tiny bit of history about the place that they are investigating. If you've watched as many as I have you'd know betime now that a lot of the ghosts are small children playing, a maid who's commited suicide, a mother or some man who has treated people very poorly.

The crew are expected to spend a full 24 hours in these buildings but you can guarantee that about 2am they'll get a bit scared and call it quits. I don't blame them mind. You wouldn't catch me doing it. They always have cameras set up in different locations so that you can see from set view points if anything is going on which they can pick up on later.

Whatever they capture or discover they always put it to a parapsychologist, to see what his opinions are. They always have a bucket load of orbs (invisable ghostly shapes) although Ciaran O'Keeffe, no matter how impressive they might be always states that they are probably just dust or small insects. To be honest I don't know why they bother to mention them anymore. It is always nice to see his reaction when he's a bit stumped as to what explanation he can give. You'll get a 'I am impressed' or maybe even a 'needs to be re examined to be certain of what could of happened' type of response. But he is lovely (!) so I'm willing to forgive his non commitment.

Another thing you can be certain of, is that there will be lots of swearing, knock once for yes, twice for no, footsteps, sudden cold spots and unexplained noises.

All in all this is a great programme to watch, especially late at night with the lights out and nobody but yourself for company. Freaks me out everytime. It's even better when they have the live versions although you do have to be very patient for things to happen and on occassion it can get annoying because they stick a break in just when things are livening up!

Even if you don't believe in ghosts it's still entertaining, especially when you see their little scared faces when they don't know what to think anymore. I'm still very undecided as to whether I believe or not but maybe for some people it'll make it a bit clearer for them.
